Around the League: April 1 - 3, 2008

Jim Jones
Tuesday Competitive

It was a rout for MIA as the crushed their opponents 9-1. That's got to bump up their confidence for year-end action. Miller Time and Sean Clarke Five also had strong nights. Textbook ought to feel good about their 8-and-a-half lead over 2nd-place 4 Lumps and a Star, but you just never know what might transpire. Jim Jones had a great night with 7 wins and a couple of ERO's. Stan Vogt and Roger Miller were the other players with only one loss. Giorgio Giaccone keeps driving up his ERO tally. He earned 3 in each of his last two outings. Others with multiple run-outs include Greg Smyth, Pierre Cote, Neil Scott, Dave Storey and Dan Kelly. Total ERO's: 27. The players board is looking interesting. Rick Emery leads the pack but Dave Storey, Andre Noel and Greg Smyth all have a chance for the bragging rights.

Jeff Zimmer
Tuesday Rec.

Tuesday Rec. saw another night of even matches, all of them 3-2. No movement in the team race as leading No Tips and second-place Trigger Happy each had 3 of a possible 5 points. Dropped the Anchor are in striking distance but need a few big nights to finish the season. Jeff Zimmer had a perfect night and the high Plus/Minus of +23. Kevin Fortier and Mike Redquest also won all of their games. No ERO's, but 10-0 wins were achieved by Rick Messina, Rick Lalonde and Charles Sim. It's Rick Messina atop the leaderboard. Not surprising, with 77.63% in the Win Percentage column.

Dan Hughes
Wednesday Intermediate

Millimeters Peters seem to want to wrap things up early. They administered a 9-1 beating and are now leading the teams race by 11 points. Dan Hughes had the most wins (7 of 8) and the high P/M of +33, although Denis Leeks managed most points and an ERO. The season's top point-scorer Milo Kraljevic had a couple of run-outs to bump his total for the year to 17. Others with ERO's on this night include Dave Bright, Mike Norkum, Stgeve Young, Brad Dawes, Dan Jorgensen, Franco Giaccone and Ewen MacDonnell.

Dan McGuire
Thursday 3-Player

Craft and Show Us Your Rack each had a five-point night but it looks like it's coming down to a two-team race between JBM and Triple D's. Mike Parker, who is second only to Dan McGuire on the players board, had the best showing of the night with all 6 wins and the high P/M of +35. Jeff Zimmer, Garry Rock, David Davison and Pat Moulton all had strong 5-win efforts. Rick Messina was the sole player with an ERO.

More summaries to follow as stats become available. And yes, we definitely need to start taking player pictures.
